Sean Lomas - President

Sean has an outstanding resume including a full scholarship to Division One Marist College. He was the starting shortstop and the closing pitcher. He then transferred in 1999 on a scholarship to University of Maryland as their starting shortstop and closing pitcher.

In high school, Sean was a four year All-Conference 1st Team, four year All-Area 1 Team, three year All-State 1st Team for baseball while he was a three year All-Conference 1st Team, three year All-Area 1st Team, two year All-State 1st Team for basketball. He was also an All-American nominee for both sports his senior year. He finished his high school career with 1,641 points and 207 career three pointers leading the state of Connecticut. Out of high school Sean was offered a professional contract by the New York Mets but he chose to go to college. Not only was he a top 150 recruit in baseball but he was also a bonafide division one basketball prospect.

At University of Maryland Sean was the ACC's top fielding shortstop in 2000 and 2001 which included other star shortstops such as Khalil Green of the San Diego Padres and Russ Adams of the Toronto Bluejays. The switch hitter's career bating average was .319. Sean also topped out at 92 miles per hour off the mound as a pitcher. After Maryland, Sean was signed to a professional deal but injuries plagued him from prolonging his career. So he turned his attention to coaching and counseling. Sean has gone on to coach high school Varsity baseball and basketball programs as well as specialize in individual instruction with Lomas Excel Sports where he has taught many players now playing collegiately or professionally. He also was a youth counselor in New York working with troubled youth. He started the first varsity baseball and basketball programs there and led these teams to great success. Sean's credentials are extensive and impressive because of all the time and effort he has put into his craft. This is why he believes children have the drive and determination to succeed in sports and he can definitely make your child realize the potential they don't know they possess within them.

Marcela Lomas - Director/Lead Teacher

Marcela started her career in child care at the early age of 12 by mentoring and tutoring at local schools. Her first job was working with a blind disabled child, where she used sign, occupational and physical therapy. She was a lead teacher for Children's Corner in Ridgefield, Connecticut for two years. She then became the lead director for the infant and toddler program at Kid's Country in Mahopac, New York. After a couple years of teaching, Marcela followed this by becoming a youth psychology counselor for two years at Green Chimneys School, which was a facility for emotionally disturbed children. Most recently she was a lead teacher and 2006 teacher of the year at Gateway Academy in Myrtle Beach. With all her accolades, she is also fluent in four languages. With Marcela's background and love for children, she is a perfect fit for helping your child enjoy their experience in becoming prepared for early elementary education.

Melissa Morton - Softball Instructor

Melissa was a four year starting shortstop and pitcher for Kennedy High School in New York. She was a three-year All-Conference player and an honorable mention All-State player her senior year. Melissa was offered a softball scholarship to division one Towson University, but chose to become a professional dance choreographer. In the meantime, she never stopped her love for softball. She continued to coach and give personal lessons. She has trained many college softball players whom are playing today and also many top-notch high school players. She was an assistant coach for Melissa Tucci (University of Missouri Coach) for softball AAU programs on the east coast. Whether it is fielding, hitting, or pitching, she brings many assets to the table. She is currently working very closely with girls in Myrtle beach and coaches a few teams in Carolina Forest. Melissa also has her bachelors degree from Coastal Carolina.

Ryan Westmoreland

Ryan was a graduate of Southern Wesleyan University in 2004. At Southern Wesleyan, Ryan was a four year letterman where he hurled as left handed pitcher for the baseball team. Ryan also was the assistant clubhouse manager for the Triple A Charlotte Knights from 2001-2004. Also, amongst his achievemants was when he won the "Pride Of The Warrior" at SWU for weight training and conditioning amongst the other fellow athletes.Ryan works as a college recruiter for several college baseball programs down south.He has worked with many college and professional players specializing in pitching mechanics and how to become a complete pitcher, as well as excelling in improving the conditioning aspect of the game for other players. Ryan was a Boston Red Sox scout for two years and now currently is a professional scout for the Pittsburgh Pirates.

Ashley Gerdts - Softball Instructor

FORMER DIVISION I SOFTBALL PLAYER AT COASTAL CAROLINA UNIVERSITY. Tied for ninth on CCU’s all-time chart with 14 career home runs...

2006:
Saw action in 55, starting 54 of them at shortstop... Hit a dramatic game-winning three-run homerun in the eighth inning to defeat Radford 5-3 and win the 2006 Aeropostale Big South Conference title for the first time since 2001... Had 32 hits... Second on the team and fourth in the conference with 11 home runs… Recorded six doubles, 11 home runs, and 23 RBIs...Had a fielding percentage of .953... Had a slugging percentage of .530 this year… Tied for second on the team in walks with 21… Fourth on the team with 24 runs scored... In conference play hit .286 with two home runs and four RBI… Set a new career high with a six-game hitting streak (4/2-6)... Her 11 home runs are tied for sixth most ever at Coastal in a single season...

2005:
Started 41 of the 42 games she appeared in at shortstop… Was fourth on the team in runs scored with 13… Second on the team in home runs with three… Her 15 RBIs were third on the team… Had 25 hits… Against Harvard (3/26) went 2-for-4 with two home runs and five RBIs… Against Birmingham-Southern (4/3) went 3-for-5 with a double and a walk... Was second on the team with 72 assists…

High School:
Was a four-year starter at shortstop at Air Academy, serving as team captain and earning All-State honors her senior year… Was a First Team All-Conference selection for the Kadets her final two years after earning second team honors her sophomore season… Also lettered four years in basketball, earning Second Team All-Conference accolades as a junior… Was also named honorable mention All-Area in hoops as a freshman and sophomore… Earned a place on the Honor Roll… Played club softball for the Colorado Stampede…
